Guess What's on the Menu?

This week's CSA shareholders are getting some fresh, homemade pasta made with our wholesome eggs, caramelized onions and eggplant tomatoes that we preserved last summer. We are making everyone happy by creating separate varieties using organic King Arthur flour, Pamela's gluten-free flour and even a spelt flour version. No one is getting left behind the pasta train! These old-fashioned, wide egg noodles will surely please and are a simple tasty combination of flour, eggs, Himalayan sea salt and olive oil. Mangia! #PowderKegFarms #PastaLoversUnite #GiniInTheKitchen

Life on the Farm

Paul, who is like a second son to us, took these lovely photos of our farm while spending a day helping us harvest, wash and bag arugula and spinach last week. We’ve known Paul since he was about 12 years old, and it’s been our privilege watching him grow into the wonderful man he is now. We always appreciate his help and spending time together. Thanks for the great pictures, Paul—and for being an awesome helper! #ItTakesaVillage #PKF #WinterCSA

Something Sweet when It's Bitter Outside

Last week, as bitter temperatures continued knocking on our doors, we filled the kitchen with the soothing aroma of butter and sugar melting on the stove with plump peanuts. Yup...we made copious amounts of peanut brittle for Powder Keg Farm's CSA baskets. On hand to help was longtime friend Rosy, whose recipe we used. Nothing wrong with balancing out the bitter with the sweet, and oh, how sweet it is! Peanut brittle is the kind of delicious treat that lasts, since a little goes a long way! #eatyoursweets #eatsaladtoo #staywarm #pkf #pkfcsa
