​We are looking for self-motivated and responsible people to join our growing team at Powder Keg Farms.

Farm Manager

Organization: Powder Keg Outreach, Inc.
Position Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: High View, WV (must live nearby; housing may be provided)
 
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Farm Manager to oversee all aspects of our year-round specialty crop and livestock operation. The ideal candidate will be both a skilled agricultural leader and a faithful Christian role model, guiding volunteers and staff while advancing the farm’s mission: training agricultural communities in sustainable, Bible-based farming techniques to improve yields, overcome poverty, and strengthen communities.

Using Farming God’s Way methods, this role is responsible for ensuring the farm’s productivity and profitability through strategic planning, operational oversight, and financial stewardship.

Compensation
  • Hourly rate +, based on net income
  • Possible housing provided

Key Responsibilities
  • Crop & Livestock Management: Oversee breeding, feeding, health, planting, cultivation, and harvesting using Farming God’s Way methods.
  • Financial & Operations Oversight: Manage budgets, purchasing, and resource efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise staff while fostering a safe, productive, and faith-centered workplace.
  • Equipment & Facility Care: Maintain farm buildings, high tunnels, and equipment.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all regulations and standards.
  • Record Keeping: Track production, costs, and performance to inform future planning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field helpful, but not required.
  • Experience with, or readiness to learn, Farming God’s Way methods, and dedication to continued education in this sustainable, Bible-based farming practice.
  • 3-5+ years of proven farm management or agricultural operations experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of sustainable farming practices, crop cycles, and livestock care.
  • Business and financial management experience.

Wash Station Attendant and Farm Hand

Organization: Powder Keg Outreach, Inc.
Position Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: High View, WV (must live nearby)

Responsibilities include wash station operations (washing, packing, and bagging), as well as cultivating, weeding, planting, animal care, and other general farm tasks.

Position is available immediately.

Compensation
Hourly - $15
​
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 or 9am to 5 or 6pm. Depending on the season.

  5. The date you wish to start working and intended length of stay.
  6. State that you understand a drug test and background check is required.
  7. Do you have a current drivers license?
  8. Are you legal to work in the United States?
  9. Do you have any prior commitments that would bar you from working any days during the season?
We practice heritage-based farming in the “new old way,” relying on our passion for sustainable farming practices and preservation of the land.
