Last year we were honored by the West Virginia Conservation Agency, the Potomac Valley Conservation District, and the West Virginia offices of the USDA NRCS. We underwent a 3-part judging process last summer, first winning at the Hampshire County level, then the Potomac Valley District level, and finally the West Virginia state level. The final round of judging took place during the worst drought this area has seen in 200 years. Thanks to the Farming God's Way practices we implemented, we had beautiful crops in our fields when all the other farms around us had dead and dying crops. We were recognized with a special citation during the West Virginia Agriculture and Conservation Day on Thursday, Feb. 20 in Charleston on the Senate floor by Senators Darren Thorne and Tom Willis from our home district. We praise God for the favor He has given us since we dedicated Powder Keg Farms to His use.
